Pirate Cutlasses & Flintlock Pistols
Historically accurate, non-functioning replicas
Introducing our 2006 line of
"Replicart" Flintlock and Dueling Pistol relicas.
These replicas are true to the size and design of originals, but are
non-functioning replicas. "Flintlock" pistols were so called because the
lock uses a flint to strike sparks into the priming pan when the trigger is pulled.
A small amount of gunpowder in this pan is ignited, which in turn ignites the main
gunpowder charge in the barrel, which propels the lead ball out of the barrel and into the
wild blue yonder. Both the main charge and ball were loaded from the front, or
muzzle, of the barrel, after which the priming charge was poured into the pan - all very
time consuming! Often the priming charge would burn but fail to ignite the main
charge. This is the basis of the expression "Flash in the pan".
All pistols below are non-functioning replicas with moving firing actions
(i.e. the hammers cock and are "fired" by the triggers)
We are closing out our 2006 Line of replica pistols and
will not restock these items. Look for new items in late 2007.

Italian Dueling Pistol - Black/Gold:
The Italians have set the pinnacle of style for centuries. Exhibiting the classic
lines of later-19th century dueling pistols, with its fluted stock and long slender
barrel, this stylish weapon replicates an original from the Italian gun-making city of
Brescia. Immaculately finished, both inside and out, such a pistol would be the
ultimate in function and reliability for its day. This pistol is favored by
stylish pirates with fine tastes, or at least the pirates who prey upon stylish lords with
fine taste. In either case, the pirate gets the pistol and looks damn good in his
swashbuckling gear. Item #FP10128

![]() "The shot heard 'round the world" |
Scottish Flintlock: Reproduction of
the 1760 model Scottish Flintlock, believed to be the style used to fire the "shot
heard 'round the world", at Lexington, starting the American Revolution. Made
of solid metal construction with an antique brass finish. Detailed scrollwork
patterns adorn the entire pistol with a Scottish thistle seal on the grip. This
pistol has a unique design element which reflected the practical side of the Scottish
flintlocks - there is an integral belt clip on the left side of the pistol to hang the
pistol firmly from your belt. These are the last few of an old stock. This
pistol is no longer in production. Made by Denix, of Spain. Item
